FORD made TRANSMISSION changes half way thru the 2001 PRODUCTION year  ON THE MUSTANG. Transmission APPLICATION AND CONFIRMTION is NECESSARY!   This is done by reading  the DOOR code on the drivers DOOR.(inside) The designation for transmission  STYLE and TYPE are located under the   TR   location. If your car has a   K  under the  TR location then your car HAS the 3650 transmission and REQUIRES the 3650 tremec SHIFTER. Otherwise use the T45 model shifter.
